Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel, make disciples, and baptize in my name." The gospel is His story. Our story is all about sharing Him to the city we love. Los Angeles.

Angeles Church was birthed out of a burden for the millions of lost and broken souls in Los Angeles. In September 2012, the McGoverns and their three little girls left their home and their jobs, took a leap of faith, and moved home to Los Angeles, to the community of Glendale, and began teaching Bible Studies in the living room of their home.

On Easter of 2013, Angeles Church was officially launched with 6 members. Over 120 people gathered for our first Easter in the Park. The following Easter, over 400 gathered for our second Easter in The Park. Since launching 2 years ago, Angeles Church has seen many receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus Name.

God has provided, and His Spirit has led us, every step of the way on this amazing journey. And the most beautiful part of our story is this: it's only the beginning.

Our Pastor

David and Monique McGovern / Lead Pastors
David and Monique (along with their three daughters Anevay, Ambree & Adelyn) serve as the founders and lead pastoral family of Angeles Church. David began pursuing the call of God to preach the gospel as a teenager. He got his start in ministry as an 18-year-old youth worker, and spent the next 14 years serving in youth ministry. In 2005, he and Monique were married, and they worked as full-time youth pastors in the San Diego area for over seven years. In 2012, they answered the call to move home to the Los Angeles area, and plant Angeles Church. Pastor David is an in-demand itinerant speaker, and travels frequently to minister around the US, and abroad.

What we believe

About the Bible

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living.

  • II Timothy 3:15-17

About God

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man.

  • Deuteronomy 6:4

  • Ephesians 4:4-6

  • Colossians 2:9

  • I Timothy 3:16

About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

  • Romans 3:23-25; 6:23

  • Ephesians 2:8-9

About the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection).

  • I Corinthians 15:1-4

  • Acts 2:4, 37-39

  • Romans 6:3-4

About Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today.

  • Mark 12:28-31

  • II Corinthians 7:1

  • Hebrews 12:14

  • I Corinthians 12:8-10

About The Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.

  • I Thessalonians 4:16-17

  • Revelation 20:11-15
